VOID

Listen.
Listen to me cry out.
Don't you hear me?
Don't you feel my pain?
I'm SCREAMING.
Yet you turn your back.
I reach for you.
But you pull your hand
Away.

Look.
Look at my shattered heart.
Don't you see me?
Don't you taste my tears?
I'm bleeding.
Yet you mock me.
I plead to you.
But you choose to walk
Away.

STOP.
Stop all this senseless hurt.
Don't you love me?
Don't you want it to end?
I'm dying.
Yet you let me.
I saved you.
But your heart has gone
Away.

In the Presence of Our King

Jesus, where can I go?
To get away?
And, where can I be,
To just be free?
Where can I run,
Except into your arms?

Your arms that rescue me.

Because Your love is endless.
It knows no boundaries.
From the wings of the dawn
To the far side of
The sea.

Your love surrounds me.

Jesus, where can I hide
In the darkness of night?
Where can I run
When you shine like the sun?
Where can I flee
Except into your arms?

Your arms that rescue me.

Because Your love is endless.
It knows no boundaries.
From the wings of the dawn
To the far side of
The sea.

Your love surrounds me.

You search me
And You know me.
You take all my
Thoughts before Thee.
You guide me
And You hold me

In Your hands.

Spin

V.1

I remember a girl named Lily,
Who used to stand before the mirror,
With bows adorning her pigtails
And pink lace and all the frills.

She used to think she was a princess
Or the queen of this world,
But somewhere along the line
Something changed in her mind

And then I lost my little girl.

Chorus

Spin, Lily, Spin.
Spin, Lily, Spin.
Spin, Lily, Spin.
Spin, Lily, Spin

Let your fears be washed away.
Let's go back to yesterdays.
When you're young and livin' free,
Oh, Lily, won't you come with me?
And Spin.

V.2

I remember the days of glory,
When Lily knew who she was.
Never had a care in the world,
Or worried if she measured up.

Then along came the TV screen,
And models in those magazines.
Girls pretendin' they're her friends,
And boys stealin' her innocence.

I wonder where's my little girl?

With Jesus

V. 1

There is no other place that
I'd rather be
Than with you, Jesus,
Kneeling at your feet.

There is no other place that
I'd rather run
Than to you, Jesus,
Straight in your arms.

Chorus

With Jesus
I receive forgiveness and grace.
With Jesus
Let your beauty shine on my face.

Your mercies new,
And love that's true,

With Jesus.

V.2

There is no one else
I can fully trust
Than you, sweet Jesus,
Your unfailing love.

There is no one else
With the strength to stay
But you, my Jesus,
Never walk away.

DARK City

The air is cold and still.
The city's lights shine bright,
Clear,
Unfrightened.

The Rain begins to pour down,
Clouding the city with its Darkness.

Streams fill and overflow,
Flooding the city with forceful POWER.

Hopes and dreams are washed away,
Carried by the unrelenting current.

The Rain....
Stops.

Leaving the city in ruins,
Awaiting to be restored,
Not knowing its true destiny.

Why?
Why must the Rain pour down?
Why must It Darken this poor city?

Fat Popularity (written in high school, struggling with anorexia)

It's Strange how a girl so popular,
So sure of herself,
Could be so unsure,
And Completely.
Messed.
Up.

Letting one thing that is meaningless,
Control her life.

She acts as though only HE
controls her life.

But HE can't be the controller
When she won't let Him,
When only the temptation has POWER.

Unless...
She can stop it,
Forcing herself to quit,
Making it all end.

To starve, is a bad thing,
But to be fat in the popular world-
Is even worse.

Close the Door

Boredom arises,
Temptation whispers,

"Open the Door,"
Temptation speaks,

Momentary satisfaction,
Temptation SCREAMS,

Overbearing Indulgence,
Temptation Laughs,

Self-conscience glance,
Temptation mocks,

Crying eyes,
Temptation comforts,

CLOSE THE DOOR!
Temptation silenced.

The Land of the Free

Here we are living in the Land of the Free,
Where we claim to have all we could ever need.
Yet we struggle with the choice that we made.
Who is our leader and what's he going to take-
From us?

We have our tea parties,
And walk the city streets,
With our SIGNS held high!
Banners wavin' in the sky!
Yelling, everything except,
"Crucify!"

Don't we know that we are part of this?
We are not innocent.
We took that stimulus check without a second thought.
Let your mind wander now through all that you bought,
Or have you forgot-ten--
There is good that has come of this too?

We put so much focus on what's gone wrong,
The health care reform and the list that's long-
And goes on and on and on.

But when are we going to wake up and realize,
That we are just hypocrites in disguise,
Hiding behind our political views?
Have you thought what it'd be like to walk in his shoes?

Leading a country that boasts freedom of choice,
But won't have a voice-
When it comes to supporting our leader.

Maybe it's time that we all unify,
Not on what's gone wrong,
But on what's gone right.
Standing up as a country of one,
Winning the battle before it's even begun,
-Or is that too much to ask?

Of people who live in the Land of the Free...

THUNDER

Boom, Boom!
The THUNDER crashes
And the lightening, it splashes,
As it dances light across the walls.

Hush, little one.
It's just a sound,
Bouncing off the clouds,
Like a warrior's drum going into battle.

Boom,Boom!

Hush, child.
Your body quivers in fear,
But child, I am here, I am here,
I AM.

Close your eyes and listen to the rain,
As it makes music on the window pane.
See--it's singing for you, for you,
And you, and you.

Boom,Boom!

Child, Child,
You are safe in my arms.
I will never let any harm-
Come your way.

I AM your refuge.
I AM your shelter in the storm.

Just come,
Come to me.
And I will hold you as it passes.

BOOM,BOOM!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom.
Boom, Boom.
